Curtain Holdback Ideas - For A Kid's Room

Today is a quick tutorial on how to update plain holdbacks into a fun and funky look for a little girl's room. I have been updating my little girl's room and here is another idea you can try. I found these holdbacks at a yard sale for 50 cents and I couldn't pass them up.

Pic 1 - You will need holdbacks, any color boa and a hot glue gun.
Pic 2 - Dab hot glue on the holdback
Pic 3 - Gently press the boa on the glue
Pic 4 - Work in small sections by adding hot glue and wrap the boa and continue till all sections are covered.
Pic 5 & 6 - Now you have a cool new holdback. There are so many different ways to change the look of these holdbacks. You can add glue and glitter, spray paint them or wrap them in fabric and tie them off with a ribbon.

I am happy to be back this week after being MIA for two weeks. My little girl was sick and then I got sick. I had no energy and I had a grumpy daughter, so it's great to be back and I'm so happy to be sharing with you. I appreciate you stopping by; have a great week!

Vanessa

Firmoo Fashion Eyewear

Have you noticed more people are wearing glasses as a fashion statement then for prescription use? When I was growing up, wearing glasses wasn't cool and you were made fun of. However, people without vision problems are wearing glasses as a fashion now a days. Glasses have come a long way and they are modern and stylish. I love how Firmoo frames are contemporary, trendy, and come in different shapes and colors.  You can choose to have sunglasses or regular glasses made into prescription or nonprescription. The process is so easy and shipping is quick too.

The frame I chose is this grey one -

I was very impressed with the quality of the frames and the prescription lens as well. The process is so easy. First I chose my frame, then I typed in the prescription information and I was done. So, if you are ready to change your look and just would like to try Firmoo out now, here is your chance.  Firmoo has launched a First Pair Free Program to people worldwide. You will absolutely fall in love with the excellent quality, affordable prices and fashionable frames. Give them a try and let me know how you like them.

Hugs,

Vanessa

 Mission Monthly Medium

Materials you will need -

30x6 inch rectangular wood piece
paint of any color
brushes (to color the wood and artist paint brushes to paint designs with)
clothes pins
Mod Podge and hot glue gun
scrap paper
scissors

This wood piece use to be red so I sanded it down and used white satin by Martha Stewart.

Next I stenciled on "My Works of Art" and free hand some flowers. Once I created the flowers I painted them. As you can see it's not perfect, but I was going for cute.

My funky flowers! I forgot to take a picture of this step, but once I was done with the flowers I took clothes pins and cut of scrap paper to size and used mod podge to adhere the paper to the clothes pins. Once the clothes pins were dry I added hot glue to the back and adhere to the wood.

There you have it a simple wood project to make for your children. You can free up your fridge and your kids will be so happy to have somewhere to display their works of art. I appreciate you stopping by and please stop by One Tough Mother and Link up any wood project you made. Spread the word about the link party too!! Have a great weekend.

Dinner Meal - Quick and Easy Pasta Dish

One of my favorite meals to make is a pasta dish, because it is a fast meal to make. I usually make pasta over the weekends so we can have extra for the next night. This meal is so easy and inexpensive to make.

For this Meal you will need -
**Start out first by placing the bacon to cook as well as an entire box of spaghetti noodles in a pot of boiling water. Then it is time to make the sauce. This way when your sauce is done, so is the bacon and pasta. Also save about 1 1/2 cups of the pasta, water, and set them aside. **

1. Bacon or turkey bacon cooked. I use about 10 slices of cooked bacon for this dish.
2. One small red onion chopped and sautéd in a tablespoon of Olive Oil. Cook till translucent.
3. Chopped up mushrooms and toss in with the onions and cook for about 5 minutes. Use the mushrooms that you like best and add as much or little as you like. I added a cup.
4. Crumble bacon when cooked and toss in with the onions/mushrooms.

Top Right Pic - 5. Add a 1 1/14 cup of whipping cream and three tablespoons of butter.
Bottom Right Pic - 6. Mix them together and let them sit on low heat for about 5 minutes and then toss in spinach or broccoli and stir till cooked. If the sauce becomes too dry just add a few spoonfuls of the pasta water.
Pic to the left - Toss the cooked spaghetti noodles in the sauce till coated. If you see the pasta is not coasted well enough then add more of the pasta water to the sauce. Next add Asiago, Romano or Parmesan cheese to the pasta. Stir it in. Than serve immediately.

Their you have it, a quick and easy meal that you can make in 35 minutes. Seriously, it's that easy. Try this meal out and let me know how you like it. Thank you for stopping by today and leaving me a SWEET comment.

Hugs,

Vanessa

Burlap Linky Party

Here is an update on a couple of easy projects I made for my little girl's room. The colors she is picked out are so cheery and bright. I love it.

Took some colorful pom pom's and string them along to make a garland. Then I added a ribbon with a cute glittery button and Voila!

I love these colors my sweet girl is into right now. Remember the picture frames I bought her at Hobby Lobby? It goes great with these two frames I found at Marshall's.

I made this lovely chalkboard bottle to hold her flowers!

Thanks for stopping by and I LOVE to hear from you. Have a great weekend and keep warm.

Hugs,

Vanessa
