Summer Break Is Over!

These last two months have been super busy. The last time I wrote a post I was in the middle of packing and looking for a new home. It was not fun and since we are not in the market to buy a new home, rental properties are scarce. In a month I did find a new home and the rush was on to move, clean and unpack. I also had to continue to pick and paint furniture pieces to put in my booth. I don't know about anyone else but I don't like having summer's like this. Crazy busy!

Since I started my business in March I have painted 200 pieces and I am thankful everyone that have purchased my pieces loves them. Here is a few pieces I worked on the last two months.

This beautiful white maple chest I simply distress around the edges and gave it clear knobs.

This vintage drop leaf table I painted it turquoise and once dry I added a clear glaze with white paint to give it a different effect. Can you see it?

This gorgeous maple chest dresser is my favorite. I was sanding to remove some of the paint and before I knew it looked like this. I love how this piece turned out.

I came across this vintage toddler desk and chalkboard and I just love the way they looked so I didn't paint them. I found a couple of bar stools and love how they turned out! The black piece on top well this pieces was an ugly pukey green so I gave it new life. Here is a tidbit - All the pieces I paint I always wax or use a water base vanish. On dining tables I use a water base poly.

I enjoyed writing this post for you all and I have so many more pieces to share with you in the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping by and go out and create something beautiful!

Hugs,

Vanessa

  3. Beautiful work Vanessa!!!
I did a table very similar to that in French Linen - but I also used a technique for the top almost identical to the one you used - and that antique school desk is just gorgeous!
