Christmas Home Tour 2016
Merry Christmas and welcome to the Christmas Home Tour 2016. I'm so happy to be apart of the tour hosted by "Stacy - Not Just A Housewife." If you're joining me from Rhoda - Southern Hospitality, welcome and I'm so glad you are here. Isn't Rhoda's home beautiful?
Today I am sharing my real live Christmas tree decor. I love Christmas traditional colors like red, green and gold. I miss having a large living room, but some how I made this 8 ft tree work in this small room. Come on in and thank you for being here.
For the past two years we had a real tree and I love it. I didn't think I would, but I do. I love the smell and when Christmas is over, I just cut the tree up and use it in our fire pit. Pretty awesome!
Every year, I always say I am going to change my snowmen ornaments out for new ones, but I just can't, they are so darn sweet and I've had them for 15 years. Every year I buy a new snowman ornament and somehow it just works with our tree.
I added these word ornaments this year, which I love.
Isn't this window snowman the cutiest?
I have many glass ornaments on my tree and not one has broken in 15 years. Do you see my new "Merry Christmas sign"? The sign has led lights as well. We don't have a mantle so I have to improvise, by hanging my stocking above my vintage Ethan Allan bench.
Thank you so much for joining me today! Next stop on the Christmas tour is Toni - Design Dazzle. I can't wait for you to see here beautiful home.

Christmas - It's a Wonderful Life Christmas!
Do you love Christmas movies? We've got 25 talented bloggers to put together a host of food and craft ideas based on your favorite movies!
We have 25 talented bloggers gathered together to share with you all the wonderful crafts and recipes you can make this Christmas season, based off of some of the most beloved holiday classic films. Each blogger will lead you to the next, so be sure to finish the hop all the way through to the end for all the Christmas movie goodies! I welcome you to stop by at the end of this post to see all the other Christmas magic.
I am so excited you are here today and if you are here from
A Mommy Scene thank you for stopping by. If this is your first time to DIY180, welcome! This is my favorite time of year and what makes it more fun is having the opportunity to work with talented bloggers. We can't wait for you to see what we have created using Christmas movies as our source of inspiration for our projects.
I have many favorite Christmas movies, but the one I have the fondest memories of "It's A Wonderful Life". I just love George and Clarence's the angel. My favorite part of the movie is when George comes home and the children ask their father where is the Merry Christmas wreath and you see the Christmas tree in the background. This scene I remember how those vintage Christmas bulbs stood out to me on the tree and thinking about the Merry Christmas wreath. I put the two together and came up with an easy wreath for you to make and enjoy ever Christmas.
This post contains sponsored links.
Supplies needed:
Vintage Christmas bulbs (These would work)
Using my gold spray paint, I gave one coat to my chipboard wreaths. I set aside about 5 minutes to dry. While waiting for the wreath's to dry, I rearranged my vintage Christmas bulbs.
Once I figured out how I wanted the bulbs, I hot glued them on the chipboard. Once I had the bulbs in place, I added my bow.
Here is my "Merry Christmas wreath". Having a little vintage in my Christmas decor, makes me happy because it reminds me of my childhood.
Thank you for being here and now unto the next Christmas magic - Nicole ~ For the Love of Food. She is sharing her favorite Christmas white fudge. Yum!
