Last weekend I started scraping, sanding, priming and painting doors, molding and baseboard. I believe this is why painters charge more money to do this then painting walls. My word, this is tedious work, but I like things done right so I went to work and it took me two days to do my daughter's room. The people who lived in this home before us, painted over the doors, molding and baseboard with white paint, but something went work and the paint started to peel by the time we moved into the house. Before I could paint, I had to scrap the paint off and then sanded, prim it and paint it. I am glad I took my time, because the doors, baseboard and molding look great!
Vanessa, this is awesome! JUST now I am doing a mini make over in my bathroom and I need desperately to paint my trims and door as well, and .

Very informative. It looks great. Thanks for linking up at Doodles & Stitches!
ReplyDeleteI approve of that attitude. Things should always be done right. And going through each process in the right sequence is, I think, the easiest way to finish it. The general rule here is to work bit by bit to avoid patches or uneven coating of plaster and paint. If I were to rate the pink door, it would be an A. ;)
